EDUCATION IS A NECESSITY FOR GROWTH.

Image
What comes into your mind once you hear of campus? Indeed there are so many assumptions about the campus life,,. At our highschool level we all want to pass and join campus and enjoy life. Yes, some things that are being talked about are true while others are false. The sole campus on an island is that of the Technical University of Mombasa. Imagine arriving in Mombasa for the first time in your life, whoa! The sensation is indescribable!! My first year on school was a little difficult because I had to adjust to a new atmosphere and establish new friends. Campus provided me with the opportunity to explore, survive, and learn more about others. Concerning college students 'comrade,' we eat chapati beans 'chapo dondo" most of the time because it is the cheapest supper. The learning curriculum differs from that of high school, where you have enough time to work and go to school. The best thing about campus is that you can enrol in part-time classes. Though bal...

CLIMATE CHANGES AND IT'S EFFECTS

Climate change threatens world development and sustainability. Low-adaptation developing countries are disproportionately affected. Climate change is affecting Kenyans and the environment. Ecotourism and rain-fed farming in Kenya are particularly susceptible to the effects of global warming and extreme weather. Crop and animal losses, hunger, displacement, and other health issues are all caused by the increasing frequency and severity of heat and drought. The low-lying coastline and nearby islands of Kenya are vulnerable to the effects of sea level rise on fisheries and storm surge protection. Greenhouse gas emissions from animal enteric fermentation are significant in the agricultural sector. The semi-nomadic Samburu people of Kenya are only one example of a group whose way of life is shifting as a result of climate change. The Samburu raise a variety of animals, including cattle, goats, sheep, and camels. The men of Samburu herd their cattle out from the village during the dry seas...

DEATH IN CAMPUSES

Image
There have been numerous reports of students killing each other out of love. The female gender is the most affected, while the percentage of men is too low.  Some of the reasons why students kill their love partners are; 1. POSSESSING UNREALISTICALLY HIGH STANDARDS OF ACHIEVEMENT.  If the girl or boy is overbearing in their expectations, in contrast to what their partner can provide for them. It's possible that the man is financially dependent on his parents and cannot afford to meet all of the girl's financial needs. The boy eventually gives up and decides he will not let anyone else have the girl, so he kills her. Some girls also meet rich men outside of campus who give them money, and when the boyfriend finds out that his girlfriend hasn't been loyal and truthful, he may end up killing her and himself. 2. LOYALTY/CHEATING  Honesty and loyalty go a long way toward establishing trust in a relationship. The majority of students have more than one boyfrie...
5 LIFESTYLE CHOICES AFFECTING OUR HEALTH TODAY 1. INACTIVITY Nowadays, it takes deliberate effort to be active enough each day. By the end of the week, you should have clocked up 2.5-5 hours of moderate-intensity activity such as a brisk walk, golf game, swimming, or mowing the lawn. Alternatively, you could do 1.5-2.5 hours of vigorous activity like jogging, aerobics, fast cycling, soccer, or netball. If you don’t think you’re doing enough, then try building more activity into each day by: Walking or cycling for short journeys Parking further away Getting off the bus a few stops earlier Taking the stairs instead of the lift Meeting friends for a walk rather than a meal or a movie Doing more incidental exercise at home by cleaning or gardening. Start with small changes and build up. A step-counter can be a great motivator, encouraging you to reach 10,000 steps a day 2  SITTING DOWN FOR TOO LONG The new smoking, so they say, is sitting. A growing number of health issues, including o...
