CLIMATE CHANGES AND IT'S EFFECTS
Climate change threatens world development and sustainability. Low-adaptation developing countries are disproportionately affected. Climate change is affecting Kenyans and the environment. Ecotourism and rain-fed farming in Kenya are particularly susceptible to the effects of global warming and extreme weather. Crop and animal losses, hunger, displacement, and other health issues are all caused by the increasing frequency and severity of heat and drought. The low-lying coastline and nearby islands of Kenya are vulnerable to the effects of sea level rise on fisheries and storm surge protection. Greenhouse gas emissions from animal enteric fermentation are significant in the agricultural sector. The semi-nomadic Samburu people of Kenya are only one example of a group whose way of life is shifting as a result of climate change.
